یکی از شاخص های مهمی که لازم است محققین علاوه بر معناداری آماری گزارش کنند شاخص اندازه اثر است. در برخی از نرم افزارها از جمله Stata محاسبه اندازه اثر به 4 روش ممکن است ولی برخی از نرم افزارها امکان محاسبه این شاخص را برای همه روش های آماری ندارند.
